Asthma
Confronting Childhood Asthma

Picture
Childhood asthma is not very different from adult asthma.  When an individual is exposed to any type of trigger
"...the lungs and airways become easily inflamed" (Mayo Clinic Staff).Although deaths of childhood asthma has declined, studies show that:
  1. Between 2001 and 2013 rates increased
  2. In 2009 the rates plateaued
  3. In 2013 the rates began to decline except for children in poverty.
There was no research on why the decline or leveling off however,
it has been said it may have to do with declines in air pollution and stabilizing obesity rates.

Much has been accomplished within the past years to make this an Asthma Free world.  Below you will find more information on how this has been done and what to do to prevent attacks from occurring.
